Should Shitty Man's Shitty Statements Matter?

Our infamous Uncle Shit, Mr Ibrahim Ali is talking shit again. Pardon my language. We didnt entitle him with that title but it is actually self declared title. For those did not know this part of history, please be informed that he is famous for his line 'shit shit shit' ; uttered in an interview with Al Jazeera.

Playing his card well, his loyalty to his masters is beyond doubts. Who 'pays' him for his shitty statements is not an issue but what is he saying matters as his statements have been appearing as headlines for both mainstream and alternative media. (Does it really matter in the first place)

True he has the balls to bark in a press conference, leaving the journalists nodding their head for his intolerable and blatant racial remarks. Extremist Uncle Ibrahim Ali's balls shrink when comes to public. Never heard him moaning about 'Ketuanan Melayu' in any pasar malam (If anyone of you have heard it, buzz me please).

This 'big bang' man claims that he speaks behalf of Malays. Funny thing is the group he claims to be representing bashes him the worst compared to others.Its not a racial issue. Its merely personal opinion. We are still divided in the name of race and thats the reason opinions from jokers like him matters. When you see yourself as a Malay, Chinese, Indian, or lain lain, you feel challenged, feel insecured and have the urge to respond to him or defend your race identity.

Class stratification in term of race is ruling the society. The gap in term of race exists. We are reminded that we are different and thus we feel insecured whenever some people propagate and play these racial cards.

So where should we start from. How to get rid of this? How long do you think we need to champion our race cause? Why cant the cause form on a common platform? Giving in your race identity doesnt mean that we are giving in our culture and beliefs. Our religion is there as our reference point. you cant track down race. SO why hold tight on the race identity.

People like Ibrahim Ali is rising and holding the key to shake our peace because of the loops that we have created in the name of race. Why it should be 'I am a Malay, I am a Chinese, I am an Indian'? Why cant it be Im a Malaysian. how do you think this race thingy influence your life. Your beliefs and culture not inherinted from race but instead from your religion and geography.

No point calling Ibrahim Ali racist but we ourselves hold tight on race identity. Its just like pot calling the kettle black. He is extreme racist while we are mild racists. Thats all.

This has to change. The cause has to fall on people's welfare in general and not one particular ethnic's demands. If we have clear stand on this, Shitty Man will not be the champion again.

The suis to shut people like is within us. Lets correct ourselves and definitely people like him will be irrelevant. Anything based on one particular ethnic is paving way towards more racism.

Lets change or stop whining about racists.

William Shakespeare's pieces, despite the generation gap and culture, are relevant up to date. His amid fans would definitely remember his most bloodiest and tragic play; Titus Andronicus.

Titus Andronicus depicts a set of horrific scenes(at that particular time I mean) of gruesome murder, rape,and cannibalism. Titus Andronicus, the tragic hero of this play is a noble Roman with unquestionable patriotism to the State of Rome triggered a disastrous revenge in Tamora(Queen of Goth) by sacrificing her eldest son in the name of religious duty.

What might take the readers aback is Titus' blind loyalty to the State of Rome to the extent he killed his own son, Muties as he believed that Muties' deed to disobey the Emperor was equivalent to being unpatriotic to the State of Rome.

His blind patriotism surpassed the basic affection and love especially for his sons and muted him from speaking up for his child, Lavinia whose tongue and hands chopped off by Tamora's sons after raping her brutally.Although Titus was aware that the Emperor was not fit to be crowned, traditional customs, unquestionable patriotism thrust him from speaking up against the immorality of the Emperor which beefed up Tamora's confidence to pursue her revenge and at the end the 'power-pack'' Tamora- Titus was destroyed. In short, Titus Andronicus is a portrayal of bastardized politics reformation of political landscape.

Malaysia's version of Titus Andronicus

In Malaysia, in a slightly different context, we have our Emperor who keeps mum for all the misbehaves and misdeeds of his teammates. Ironically, he continues to preach about 'disastrous illnesses', admonish extremism in his speeches(he has a good speech writer). It is understood that he wants to land with a landslide victory or at least redeem the two third majority in the Parliament but the sincerity in his intention is questioned

People's basic rights are barred and freedom of speech is slashed. We are 'tongueless' and who ever speak up are labelled as 'traitors' or 'unpatriotic' by Najib's 'God sent' team players.

Politicians have been raping the citizens' welfare and people's education and economy are screwed up. As a result, many Malaysians give up on the current system and migrate as the grass is greener on the other side.

BN-Anwar revenge continues. Fabricated Sodomy 2 is heating up and some pundits claim that chances for Anwar to be convicted is high despite the circus taking place in the kangaroo court.

Some BN loyalists are sacrificed in the name of 'upholding justice'. PKFZ and Khir Toyo's land issue indicate that BN is trying to fix the wrongdoings. However, they fail to see that young electorates are aware about the political rhetorics. A simple question to forward is why now?

Elected leaders who supposedly serve the people are sucking their blood. The government continues to subsidize corporate companies but subsidy on necessities for people are removed. What is the justification for implementation of ETP when only 15.8% of the households have an income of between RM5,001 and RM10,000 and 4.9% have an income of RM10,000 and above?

Repentance or Political Rhetoric

What is the ending of our nation's inefficient governance? It is either a change in the government or the elected leaders repent! So far we do not see any signal for repentance apart from some dirty tricks are staged repeatedly.

Tun M's act to wash hand from Perkasa(temporarily), a call to defend 'Ketuanan Melayu', PKFZ and Khir Toyo 'staged' enforcement of law and order, Samy Velu's most awaited departure, direct membership, BN's openness to negotiate with the Third force signal that BN is brushing up for next GE.

Food for Thought

Is BN ready to abandon their race cause, establish a transparent governance and place people's welfare as their top priority after winning the snap polls?

Would the BN's charter remain as a blue print or be implemented immediately ?

Does every BN crony has the courage to give up their race based party and walk the talk of 1Malaysia that they have been chanting?

Many may suggest to vote PR in to Putrajaya

What if PR is no different from BN?We never know until PR is crowned as the ruling coalition

A Politicized Self Immolation

This engraving carries a mind blowing subtitle;

Whoever makes a DESIGN without the Knowledge of PERSPECTIVE will be liable to such Absurdities as are shewn in this Frontispiece

It is a perfect example of a paradox; statement that consists of two seemingly contradictory ideas which both appear to be true. Definitely both contradictory statements are not true and supposedly only one statement is true while another is the spoiler which degrades the authenticity of a true statement.

Illegal temple structures taken down after drawn out discussions

MAN set himself on fire in protest against the demolition of an illegal structure at a temple by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) at the Puchong Industrial Park yesterday.

The person, identified as Chakara Guna, was sent to the Serdang Hospital for treatment.

A Rela member S. Magen said the man repeatedly doused himself with kerosene and threatened to set himself on fire on different occasions around the area.

“Around 9.45am, he pulled the same stunt while holding a cigarette lighter. Suddenly, the wind blew towards him and his kerosene-soaked body accidentally caught fire,” he said.

A meeting was held later in the morning after the incident. It was attended by MIC Youth chief T. Mohan, representatives from MPSJ town planning department and MPSJ councillor Michael Tamilarason.

According to SJK (T) Castlefield, Puchong board of directors chairman Nagamuthu, the issue began four years ago when the land surveyors came and certified that the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple’s store room and toilet were built on school land.

“We wanted to apply for a land title in 2007 and a licence survey was conducted.

“We had a meeting with representatives from the education department, Land Office, Parent-Teacher Association and the temple.

“The temple representatives agreed to demolish the structures when the school needed to utilise the land,” he said.

About six months ago, the school received a RM500,000 grant from the Education Ministry to build two kindergartens.

“We wrote to the temple committee members asking them to move out but our request fell on deaf ears.

“Last month, we were informed by the ministry that the grants will be withdrawn if we did not identify the land for the kindergartens,” he said.

He added that they sought advice from the police and MPSJ to solve the issue as “the temple representatives were adamant”.

“The council put up a notice on Oct 26 that the structures be taken down in a week’s time.

“The demolition of the structures was supposed to be done last week but it was only carried out yesterday after requests from several political leaders to postpone it to after Deepavali,” he said.

At the meeting, the temple representatives asked to be given a year to relocate the temple’s toilet and store room but the school representatives declined.

Mohan and Michael were on hand to calm both parties when the discussion turned into a heated argument.

According to Mohan, it was decided the government reserve land next to the temple will be used temporarily until the temple completes the construction of the store room and toilet within the temple grounds.

Nagamuthu said the cost of the demolition and the temporary building will be borne by the school board.

The temple committee adviser could not be contacted for comments at press time.

Like it or not, we cannot run from the fact that some people take advantage of this self immolation to strengthen their political influence.Guna' s self immolation in fact appeared to be accidental as how claimed by his brother but later the news twisted by certain irresponsible parties. If a group of people is fighting for a good cause, then why do they need to twist the truth?

Lets call a spade as spade.

HRP's act to wrap this issue in a blatant context where Muslims are highlighted as 'bad' while Indians portrayed as very 'pitiful' is unacceptable. There was a time; HRP believed to be the Indian community's rescuer but today with their prejudicial statements, they prove that they are no different from MIC which has been bastardizing the community's future.

A weak or bastardized political structure will result in the downfall of a community and that is what exactly the Indian community is experiencing. From the day one MIC has been echoing their call for transformation but up to date, not many changes observed despite their loud speech whereas on the other side, we have Human Rights Party bashing the government, protesting here and there without any proper measure tackle the problems.

To our disappointment, many do not stop to re analyze their thought or decision and Guna's self immolaton is a very good example. Maybe today Guna gained overwhelming support but are these people prepared to take charge of his family if anything happens to him?

Some are trapped in the past where they are still thinking that protest is the only way to solve a problem but mind you,protest should be the final option

The community is at edge of everything where there is no turning back. Its the time for crew on the ship to take charge. Yes, we need to be empowered! If Guna were to be empowered in a good way earlier, he would have understood one thing very clearly;the change should begin from himself. He would have understood that self immolation or protest would not bring him anywhere.

We cant blame these poor people. They are puppets misused by politicians and fueled up by wrong cause just like Guna. Why should we allow ourselves to be fooled by politicians even though we are aware of it? Doing a mistake again and again but hoping for a different result is insanity!

Please be notified that 60 percent crimes belong to our community and we contribute to 14 percent of the population in prisons. Picking a specific statistics In 1994, 128 of the 377 murders committed in Malaysia were by Indians. Under Emergency Ordinance around 5000 Indian youths are detained every year. In the last few months around 300 detained in Selangor alone.

Do you think this could be solved through protest or self immolation?

A kid who is detained under EO will not able to sit for SPM! So, how do you think he could make a living ? Now, that's the beginning of another poverty stricken family.

No one denies that the problem exists but instead tackling the root cause, elected leader are busy organizing vigils, protest, street demonstrations which bring the community no where.

Time to get rid these false perspectives of which our mind is automated to believe for ages! Tell me how long do you think we need to depend on these 'leaders' and be their scapegoats?

Voter:Use your witty brain and not floppy heart

SHere we have the Batu Sapi and Galas by-elections. The usual rhetoric is being used to fish for votes. As compared to Galas, the Batu Sapi “buy”-election has taken a new dimension where there is a tight fight between 3 candidates – Ansari Abdullah, 56 (PR), Datuk Yong Teck Lee, 51 (SAPP) and Datin Linda Tsen Thau Lin, 54 (BN).

What am I interested in is BN’s decision to field Linda Tsen, the widow of the late PBS Assemblyman Datuk Edmund Chong who was killed in a bike crash earlier this month.

Edmund, who was the incumbent MP of Batu Sapi is believed to have maintained a good record throughout his service. In 2004, he won unopposed and in 2008, despite BN’s loss of its two-thirds majority, Edmund took the seat with a comfortable win.

Many argue that Linda will able to do the same with quite a number of sympathy votes for her. Now, that sounds so wrong!

On what basis should we vote for Linda? Is it because she is a widow or late Edmund’s wife or because she is actually capable to lead? Has she been involved in community activities and contributed to the development and betterment of society?

BN has claimed that she is no stranger to politics as she has been involved in her own party as a Wanita Vice Chief.

But my concern is whether she will be able to work with the grassroots to uplift society? Will she be an agent of change?

Yes, Linda has lost her husband and she deserves our deepest sympathy but that cannot be a factor to elect her. Her calm appearance and ability to play a musical instrument is not sufficient.

It is still common that votes are being fished through eleventh hour deeds like dinners, concerts and project approvals. But after the dust has settled, the elected disappear, and the people abandoned.

Our mistakes in the past are haunting us. They contribute much to our contemporary flip-flop in politics.

Why do you think politicians do not fear the public? It’s simple. They think that with money anything can be done, bought or concealed. If our forefathers had voted wisely, we would not be in this miserable state. And today, we are told we need to vote for the widow of the former Assemblyman.

Politicians may speak about transformation, may beg for another chance, may promise development, may get dirty playing football or sepak takraw, may join you for dinner, lunch and breakfast but tomorrow after the election is over, off they go on their way.

This is the time where we, as voters, need to send a strong message to every prospective representative that our votes are not easy to come by. If we elect the wrong person, society will continue to suffer while the process of removing failed representatives is tedious.

Once the corrupt get into power, the system will in turn be corrupted, and the corrupt will do anything to sustain their power and position. Why do you think Chief Minister Taib is confident about winning the next Sarawak elections despite the unearthing of numerous issues including dubious land deals and the oppressed state of the Penans?

We elected failed people in the past and in a few hours, the responsibility to rectify our mistakes rests on the voters’ shoulders. It is difficult but possible. Use your votes wisely.

We need charismatic but also intelligent leaders who will be able to empower the people.

We do not need sympathetic, soft and greedy leaders.

Vote not out of sympathy.

Is Our Education System Failing?

When one particular question is raised; ' Is our education system good?', majority of Malaysians, sweeping aside their political preferences and individual principles,echo one mutual answer; NO. Whether we like it or not, we need to accept the fact that our education system has been failing.

Before exploring this issue further, let me remind you that we are not going to discuss about passing examinations with flying colors, enrolling into prestigious Higher Institutes,or graduating as a gold medalist but another dimension of education, real life education.

Recalling one of my buddies' tweet recently; 'No one can dictate to you WHAT to think if you know HOW to think'. Is our education system has been teaching the kids on how to think? Food for though

Look at the undergraduates. How many of them do you think are vocal and reasonable with their thoughts? Supposedly, undergraduates should set a good example. Contradictorily, their acts are not parallel with their thoughts. Some of their responses to Adam Lambert's concert is a good example. One of the justifications they used to oppose the concert is it could encourage homosexuality. Ironically, this group fights for students' freedom. Dont you think that by putting forward one group's demand, we are actually surpassing another group's rights? Who are we to decide for the others even if they are just the minority? Are not these students 'educated' on making reasonable justifications? Mind you, they are the 'future leaders'.

Our Philosophy of Education emphasizes holistic development particularly intellectual growth in learning. Intellectual people are able to discuss any issue despite its sensitivity without offending others. They are less defensive and more diplomatic when ever they present their justified arguments. Their are open to criticism and these people also many times present constructive feedback. How many Malaysians do you think fit to this category? Politicians especially are driven by their own political agenda to the extent where they talk things which make less sense. They shut the public, they penalize those who speak up their mind, and at the end of the day they end up making themselves as fools who are many people's laughing stocks. We could only nod our head looking at their stupidity. On the other side, we have a bunch of people who are browsing opportunities to bash their 'enemies'. If someone really cares for the people and nation, they should offer long term solutions for problems instead of wasting their time to slam others. Where exactly these people's intellectual growth is restrained?

Some Malaysians are either too outspoken or too dumb and fearful to stand for their rights. Their 'tak apa' attitude surpasses their ability to think and reason which at the end erodes their ability to empathize others. How many of Malaysians are concerned about what happened to Aminul Rasyid, Teng Beng Hock, Kugan?(the list continues). Many take a step backward when ever comes to fight for justice. The implementation of the education system fails where many products are 'inert' and they trained to mind their own business. Our people are lacking the sense of ownership. How do you think this could be cultivated if admin work lands on teachers' shoulder plus they have to complete the syllabus before the examination. In some worse cases, teachers are assigned with 'making babies' assignment throughout their service! With these type of conditions, how do you think we could provide space for the kids to explore themselves, build the relationship with their friends and learn new things through exploration. Feelings are not taught but 'shaped' through experiences with their buddies during their learning. Does our education system provide the space?

The highest point of a good education should be the ability to see every human being as one regardless their race, color, and creed. Issue race and religion are always twisted in our country. When comes to these issues, one should not question but why? Isnt questioning part of learning? Hilariously, many are shut off when comes to issue of religion. Why arent we allowed to question the validity of certain practices in religion. Why one particular religion should appear as superior to another? Is your God different than mine?

To our disappointment, even so called 'educated' people are not prepared for a table talk when comes to religion. They insult other people's beliefs and make fun some religions' rituals and prayers. How are you sure that your religion is the best and superior to other religion?Did God appear in your dream and present an academic paper to prove it? We failed to understand that religion is a set of disciplines which guide us throughout our life. Remember that even Holy books written based on interpretations provided by Prophets. Interpretation varies according people's beliefs, background, and culture and that's the reason why cults formed. In this context, our education system has failed miserably. It fails to form the structure of critical thinking among the learners. They are surpassed from thinking. Putting it in its naked form, education is politicized. Others decide what we should questions and what we should not in the name of religion!

10-year-old kid talks about skin color, name calls his buddies from other races, makes fun the rituals of other religions and this kid is future parent who is going to groom his family. What would be his child? Something for us to ponder.

Our education system needs a set of effective implementations. It needs to cross the boundary of scoring As and has to teach our kids about being a good human being and not straight A students with terrible attitude who tweet and comment nonsense who have thoughts with skewed logic.

Anyway, are there any handicaps provided to ensure fairness in the growth of spiritual, intellectual, and attitude?

Beneath Little India

The Indian community has made important contributions to the development of Malaysia during the past hundred years. They have worked with sincerity and dedication. They have excelled at medicine, law, engineering and accountancy. They have participated at each stage in the building of Malaysia - Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India

It must have been a sense of achievement, pride, a moment of heightened emotion, even a short period of mild ecstasy that Malaysian Indians felt on hearing these words from the Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh during the Inauguration of Little India in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur recently.

Of all his speech, perhaps these were the words, the balm that the Indian community in Malaysia valued the most. For their tired ears, injected and attacked once too often by heart-stabbing and pride degrading racial slurs, Manmohan's gentle and limited comfort still offered a source of interim refuge.

The encounter while brief was fascinating for the mostly-Indian residents there, who gawked to see their congested and almost-slum neighbourhood turned into the center of attention and used as a bridge to strengthen India and Malaysian ties.

Despite their mental slavery, few Malaysian Indians will refuse to acknowledge Brickfields as a platform of Indian heritage, a hub where traditional food, costumes, savories, decorations, spices and accessories can be found along with the personal treasure troves of deeply-buried memories of many family gatherings.

Stacked-to-the-brim shops beautified with authentic India decorations like Sakthi Rasam, Parampara incense and Gold Winner Sunflower oil plus grand welcoming archways seem convincing enough to crown the streets of Brickfields as 'Little India', although many also claimed that such a description actually belittled the Indians.

Since the first day it was proposed, the Little India project has received mixed reactions from various groups. Unsurprisingly, 'barking agents' barked with baseless allegations, while 'community welfare driven' people threatened to protest. But the biggest group were the clueless jokers who clung onto their 'favorite figures' for the free publicity.

Looking at it from a different context, Little India might help to beef up the economy of this nation, or so the Malaysian authorities say. A series of MoU and Agreements -

Although, one can argue that the community's sufferings is exacerbated by their own attitude, won't the implementation of 'Gigantic Projects' create greater marginalization and enlarge the economic and social gap between the rich and the poor. In other words, won't it worsen urban poverty - the signs of which are already apparent in Brickfields - with or without the Little India revamp.

You do not need a degree in Economics or Science Political to make sense of the current situation and pose a simple question, 'How does Little India benefit these 'Little Indians' as a whole?'

We might need Little India for various reasons but with fundamental rights and necessities ignored and abandoned, dreams about building a business empire is equivalent to building a sand castle in the air!

To talk about exporting expertise or competing globally to folks gathered at the streets there is ridiculous when their basic rights are axed and daily livelihood jeopardized. To reminisce about past walkabouts in the area or eating curry does not make sense to the folks, who are struggling to make a meager income stretch for a month.

In this context, what else can Little India be if not another of the government's rhetoric to boost public relations or some other agenda to fish for Indian votes for upcoming General Election. Perhaps Little India is the 'help' extended to the people there for which they are expected to 'return' this help' very soon.

The fact is it is just too early to judge whether Little India is a successful project or a failed mission. The yield can only be observed in the long run. However, we need to remind ourselves that unresolved issues at the grass root level could generate disastrous impact that could contribute to the down fall of the larger society.

Is Little India promised wealth or planned disaster? Figures in the future shall speak for themselves...

Indian Community Indeed not in Need

Indian community to certain extent appears as a group to earn sympathy from others. This is probably due to their instable economy status where there is still a large number of Indians dumped into hardcore poverty. In term of social, Indian youths fill in the gangster ism quota at schools and even colleges. Jeopardized economy and social have made their political rights are used as trump card by irresponsible politicians. Who ever feed them with sweet promises, they channel their vote to the candidate without any second thought. In some worse cases, they remain loyal to certain candidates as they have no choice and keeps fingers cross with hope that one day these politicians will help them out although decades passed without any light in the tunnel

All the races; Malay, Chinese, and Indians approximately begin from the same starting line in the race to uplift this nation as a successful nation. Lets put aside our political preferences, religious views, ideology, and principles. Lets explore this issue generally with naked eyes sincere heart. Putting in its raw form, Malays ARE SAID as being helped by the Government through their privileges while Chinese people are well known for their hard work, intelligence, and most important, UNITY. So what are Indians well known for?

Are they well known for complaining and complaining without any effort? When candidates for JPA scholarships were announced, they protested, sent memorandum(worse some happily scanned and published at Social Networking Sites) and conducted conducted pres conference slamming the authority. So, how does this solve the problem? Scared off the government? Gimme break la folks.

Are they well known for their extreme creativity where they portray the 'beauty of Hinduism' through many ways regardless the cost, time, and energy involved? Do you know how much approximately an India spends for temple, prayers, festivals, TAMIL MOVIES, ALCOHOLS, and etc? Do not be surprised that this amount is not even 30 percent of the money they channel for remaining 523 Tamil schools, their kids' education, society's welfare, and family's betterment. In the name of serving God a large amount of money spent. A walk during Thaipusam would explain things better. Why do you need Manchester United chariot on Thaipusam Day. Is Lord fan off Machester United? (Are you sure or not? I thought he is fan of Arsenal). Why cant the money used to feed own family or others who are in need?

Are they well known for their ignorance for transformation? Do you know that a big chunk of Indians are still living in the past echoing the same rotten slogans; 'Proud to be an Indian'; 'Indian found this, Indian found that. First Indian to do this, First Indian to do that'? Yes many did achieve in the past but what have you achieved? Take a glance into schools and even Higher Learning Institutes(Public and Private). See in your own eyes how some Indian students are behaving. Many young Indian girls, influenced by Tamil Movie heroines fall in the trap of love and driven far away forgetting their initial purpose. While parents are bathing in sweat and blood to send the kids to study, they transform to 'adults' and deviate from their focus. Some Indian undergraduates are not less competent though. For them, campus life is not only to get a scroll of degree but also to indulge in their 'well of love'. This is of course not a race based phenomenon but looking it at a larger context, Indian students as usual lead the list. How many Indian students are productive at campus? You can count by fingers. Do you have any idea how many Indian students are in the Under Observation list? Ironically, you will be surprised to see them leading the Indian students in the campus. Just like a crab, teaching its young how to walk straight. When a call for change generated, they rebel! This is what exactly happening in the community out there. Incompetent people try to be hero and still living in past hoping for winning 4D or 6D number for a better life. ROTFLMAO

One or two pages not enough to highlight how Indians themselves are the reasons for their own downfall. Its all their attitude, their ignorance, their inability to think, their dim witted mind to accept naked truth about reality and how ugly they are in the eyes of their own community.

If you are sipping a glass of Carlsberg talking about how inefficient is Samy Velu for not bringing changes to the community, Shame on you !! He is at least dare to be in the race despite whatever his purposes are. You are not even able to attend a proper job to channel a proper income to your family but condemning another man for his failure to uplift the community. Whose failure anyway? His or yours?

If you belong to the group of dim witted people who bark for transformation who also bash Hindraf leaders for engulfing people's money but refuse to bring change in yourself, then you should keep your mouth shut and mind your own business. Why on this earth should they fight for people who are lazy, incompetent, narrow minded?

If you belong to group of students who feed on their parents' blood who send them off with the hope that one day they would bring betterment for the family who instead of fulfilling the promise, they are driven by unhealthy activities, then please back off rather than destroying the community.

People, its not anyone's fault for your contemporary condition but your own. Why you wait for people to feed? Why arent you independent? Why arent you striving forward for your own cause? Its you who are privileged with your ignorance and laziness. If you want a better life for your future generation, the change should begin from you!

You can be the President of a well established NGO but my concern is could you list at least 3 conditions on revoking a Malaysian's citizenship?

You can be as old as the nation but my question is do you know how many articles are there in our Constitution?

You can be barking about Article 153 but my concern is do you know what exactly is Article 153 and what does it say?

If you are in a great appetite for dinner and want to try some new dishes, Murni definitely will be the best choice. This place is always packed, hailed by many as one of the favorite hangout place in KL .It is so crowded to the extent where 3 neighboring shops were also used to accommodate the customers. It operates 7 days a week. . If you were to drop somewhere in SS2, Murni is a must go place

When first time I was told about Murni, I imagined a luxury and exclusive dining restaurant. However, I realized that I was wrong when the very first time I was there. Murni can be categorized as an ordinary ‘mamak’ restaurant which is not really exclusive (maybe ‘exclusive ‘for its food) equipped with plastic chairs and tables.

Murni serves variety types of food. It is well known for its nasi lemak, claypot “lau shu fen” and western food and also different types of ‘roti canai’. Food and drinks are served in a huge portion. It is easy to go wild with extensive food served here.

I still remember when the first time I dropped by at Murni(suggested by my friend), I was bombarded with a list of menu (with more than 30 choices of food) and frankly speaking I had some difficulty to choose what to eat. Maybe for those who are going for the first time, Napolean fried chicken is strongly recommended. This fried chicken is served in a huge plate with a piece of fried chicken and French fries. For those who prefer light food, “Roti Beckham”, “Roti Ayam”, and “Roti Hawaii”. Basically the rotis are all stuffed with different fillings, and topped with really generous amount of mayonnaise.

Their drinks are quite special too, contained in a peanut butter like glass bottle. The blended fruit juices are definitely you need to try withlycheesnata de coco. and

Besides the fact of good food, the workers there are efficient. Without writing down the order, they are able to remember a list of order consisting at least 20 orders. In another word, they are fast and efficient.

When 4 undergraduates campaigned for opposition during a by election, they were charged while students who campaigned for the ruling party walked out with full of pride(Siap berani update kat Twitter and Facebook lagi ). What we call people who corrupt the judiciary? Naive, Dim-Wit or Extreme? I do not know. You tell me

When Malaysians called for equality, 'some vocal leaders' rose and argued 'brilliantly' that these 'ungrateful demanding people' were racists while a 'genius' and 'non racist' columnist warned Non Malays to not challenge and suggested the Indians and Chinese to 'migrate' to India and China'. Denying root someone? Naive,Dim-Wit or Extreme? I do not know. You tell me.

When a 'charismatic' leader delivered 'the most memorable speech' ; 'Shit Shit Shit' in Al Jazeera criticizing and insulting non Malays, people who supposedly champion 1Malaysia kept mum while the mentor of a successful nation who admonished Malaysia for its discriminating policies which marginalized people according their race, bashed by some Malaysians 'kononnya' he was trying to 'disrupt Malaysians' unity'. Are they Naive,Dim-Wit or Extreme? I do not know. You tell me.

When Malaysians stood and performed peaceful protest to seek justice for an innocent man one year ago who died mysteriously, they were dispersed brutally whereas some 'extremists' who behaved like morons in the name 'protest to seek justice' at US embassy(Bersihkanlah daki di bahu sendiri dulu) were graced and showered with praises(not forgetting the 'Jalur Gemilang' on their shoulder). Are they Naive,Dim-Wit or Extreme? I do not know. You tell me.

When an outspoken lady spoke the truth about Malaysia in an interview with Indonesia, she was stamped as a 'traitor' while when '1Malaysian' twisted his policies and continued to keep mum while his team busy bashing other races and spreading racial slurs, his component cronies shamelessly channeled their support to this '1Malaysian team'. Are they Naive,Dim-Wit or Extreme? I do not know. You tell me.

When '40 percent truths and 60 percent lies' news portal released documents proving corruption at high level in the government, 'computer genius' blocked the website whereas when blogs like 'India membunuh Melayu' arised as two Indian lawyers arrested as suspects for Datuk Sosilawati's gruesome murder, 'computer genius' experienced 'short term memory lost' and forgot about blocking the Internet sites. When a lady MP went into the 'surau' to give some donations to renovate the surau, she was slammed in the media and labeled as 'dirty' and interestingly many Al Quran illiterate strongly warned the Non Muslims that they should not enter Muslim's prayer space(Which Al Quran are they referring to? Their own version?) whereas when a group of 'extremists' protested the building of temple next to mosque by throwing cow heads into the temple, a 'non extremist' defended them and claimed that it was not wrong as they only voicing up their rights.Are they Naive,Dim-Wit or Extreme? I do not know. You tell me.

When a group of constitutional literate people were campaigning to educate people on our constituency, a group of 'well educated graduates' twisted the issue and blamed that this campaign was giving a wrong impression about constituency (This happens if we do not have meritocracy where all Tom and Hardy become graduates). Are they Naive,Dim-Wit or Extreme? I do not know. You tell me.

Why so many of complaints you wonder? All these to justify an act of some 'responsible and civilized Councilors' who put sleep 9 'uncivilized and aggressive dogs' which belong to the 2 suspect lawyers in Datuk Sosilawati's case. Since, some of our basic human rights are not recognized, it is ridiculous to expect them to hear the 'voices of these innocent animals'. Why punish these animals? You cant tell they belong to murderers so should be killed as those lawyers are suspects. in Malaysia, 'Seseorang tidak bersalah sehingga dibuktikan kesalahannya'.

Well, what else can we say about this nation and its ' idiotic dejavu' system where your own sperm could end up in your anus, a dead man writes suicide note after strangling himself, big jets could disappear out of sudden blue moon and submarine does not sink. What we call these people?Barbarian, Jackass, or Racist? I do not know. You tell me. Interestingly, there is still a big chunk of Malaysians refuse to see truths. Those speak up will be offered with ISA 'membership' while those tech savvy who 'pandai kipas' will be paid cyber troopers. Naive or dumb?

For some time, media filled with remarks and critics channeled against Lee Kuan Yew, Minister Mentor of Singapore, for his remarks about Malaysia in his interview with New York Times.Despite the fact that he shared many mind striking thoughts, as usual, some Malaysians choose to slam LKY for his remarks about Malaysia and blamed him for 'trying to disrupt the unity' in Malaysia.

Lets call a spade as spade. Malaysia experienced 81 percent drop in FDI and suffering from a disastrous deficit to the extent subsidies have to be removed. Even neighboring countries who were not in the race before are picking up the momentum and registered higher FDI than us. Foreign investors and economists have warned that Malaysia needs to change its policies and be more flexible in order to improve its economy. Some even hint that Malaysia is paving way to be the next Greece.

The latest QS Asian University Rankings 2010 shows that Malaysian's premier university kicked out from top 200 ranking which signals the decline of the standards and international standing of Malaysian public universities. Time to admit this bitter truth that we are not developing talents but making them to leave. Statistics on brain drain alarms everyone as number of students leaving this country every year is beefing up.

Phenomenon of racism is rampant. Many unhesitant slam the Chinese and Indians by labeling them as 'Pendatang'whenever they speak up on the government's policies and call for equality. They are shut with the rusty and baseless rhetoric; Article 153, 'Ketuanan Melayu' and 'Special Rights'. To our disappointment, those; from the top to bottom of the government who are barking about this are clueless and constituency illiterate. Why refused for a transition? Dont they know that implementing policies which surpass other ethnics is another form of racial discrimination?

Freedom of speech and basic human rights are surpassed in the name to preserve the unity among Malaysians. Where is the rationale if we do not have the rights to talk, argue, and justify the issues and if we do so, draconian law like ISA used to 'mute' the voices.

Now, turning back to Lee Kuan Yew. With this current situation in Malaysia(there still many not mentioned), do you still believe that he was wrong and his allegation were baseless? Time to admit the truth that we are marginalized according to race and our basic rights are axed.Malaysia may seem to stand proud in the eyes of the world with skyscrapers and other landscapes but only we know the truth that some of these are failed white elephant projects. Beneath this fake pride, hardcore poverty, incompetent graduates, corrupted administration, and politicians with narrowed mind are engulfing this nation and hindering its growth.

There is nothing wrong to consider LKY's remarks. Why dont we learn from Singapore instead of bashing them with baseless allegations. Are we better than Singapore in every aspect? Tepuk dada tanyalah selera. Leaders never failed to introduce policies and slogans like 'Wawasan 2020','Malaysia Boleh', ' 1Malaysia' 'zero tolerance'(You name it) without walking the talk. If Malaysians are still in denial and blame LKY as though he is bombarding us with 'false facts', then sorry to say that we will remain as jackass and puppet who are only 'Jaguh Kampung'. It does not require a person to study economics to make sense and analyze contemporary status of Malaysia. What you need to do is to 'think'. Give a hit to that rotten brain and do the thinking at least now. Its better to be late than never. Its the time for us to be humble and learn from successful nation to move forward rather than being 'Bodoh Sombong'!

Hartal: Untold Merdeka Story

This nation and its people stand out proudly on the Independence platform for almost 53 years. Every citizen of current generation is fed through the education system and reminded constantly on our leaders' struggle in the past to fight for 'Merdeka'. In fact, many tend to brag that Malaya(that time) achieved its Independence from British in a peaceful manner without dropping a single blood. Every ordinary and educated(even not educated) people of this land is aware of this cliche or 'fact'. However, the concern is how much truth is lingering in this structured piece of Malaysian History? Many, in the name of trust,accept the presented history blatantly without posting any doubts or question its validity.

Today, at this date, every single element of past history is re casting which paves way to dig out the buried history of the real Independence struggle which many 'heroes' would avoid to talk about it and what more to reveal about it. The writer who is inspired by Fahmi Reza's documentary; '10 tahun Sebelum Merdeka' presenting to you Hartal:Untold Merdeka Story. What is hidden beneath the Pro British History? Time to unlock the hidden history of this land.

As many believe(or told to believe that), UMNO(United Malaya Nation Organization) started the ball rolling on initiating the thought of Merdeka. However, as stated by certain sources, the Alliance PUTERA-AMCJA was the first to initiate the thought of Merdeka. When British wanted to implement Malayan Union, many raised to project their rejection. Undeniably, UMNO was one of many in the agenda. After demonstrations and pressure from all corner, British then decided to form a team to sketch structure for Federation.

One event that should be highlighted here is before British agreed to terminate their thought to go ahead with Malayan Union and form the team to discuss about Federation, Parti Kebangsaan Melayu Malaya(PKMM) which was formed on 17 October 1945 which joined UMNO earlier pulled out on 29 June 1946 and refused to cooperate with British to be part of the team to plan the Federation.

PKMM came out with a plan to form an alliance with parties of other races. AT this point, Malaysian Indian Congress(MIC) formed with 600 members in August 1946 under the leadership of the first President, John A. Thivy. On 14 December 1946,

Council of Joint Action (CJA); a joint effort from PKMM,Malayan Democratic Union(MDU), Singapore Federation of Trade Unions (SFTU), MIC, Clerical Union, Straits Chinese British Association (SBCA), Indian Chamber of Commerce dan Ceylon Tamil Association which worked one collaborative effort to draft out a new constitution for Malaya. Below is the summarized chronology of events which illustrates the formation of PUTERA-AMCJA

* On 22 December 1946, this council expanded with new members; PMFTU, dan Malayan Peoples Anti-Japanese Ex-Service Comrades Association and renamed as Pan-Malayan Council of Joint Action (PMCJA) where Tan Cheng Lock was appointed as the first President.

* On 22 February 1947,

Pusat Tenaga Ra’ayat (PUTERA) formed at Kuala Lumpur with 29 Malay associations including PKMM, API, Angkatan Wanita Sedar (AWAS), Barisan Tani Se-Malaya (BATAS), Gerakan Angkatan Muda (GERAM) and other associations.

* In March 1947, PMCJA dan PUTERA formed PUTERA-PMCJA which later known as PUTERA- AMCJA which focused on 10 people's principles

PUTERA-AMCJA was the first multiracial Alliance which included three main races, Malay, Chinese, and Indians and also was the first to spread the thought of Merdeka among people. In this context, UMNO was silent about Merdeka for almost 10 years. While UMNO was busy sketching draft of the Federation, PUTERA-AMCJA collected all the voices to fight for Independence and structured a new constitution after some brainstorming sessions with all the main races and this constitution was known as People's Constitution. While that, this alliance protested and expressed their rejection to the Federation as they felt the Federation was again paved way for British's full power on Malaya which would make the process towards Independence difficult. UMNO's willingness to cooperate with British angered PUTERA-AMCJA as they believed UMNO was a traitor for jeopardizing people's welfare by nodding their head to British's demands. Proposal of Federation by British+UMNO+Kings

PUTERA-AMCJA started to reach the people and spread the idea of Merdeka and establishing own government;people's government while that UMNO with British, despite all the protest by PUTERA-AMCJA, they worked on Federation and refused to give ear to PUTERA-AMCJA. Below are some newspaper articles on Hartal;

During that time, with newspaper as the mainstream media, UMNO also did not fail to spread its message about Federation to gain people's support. One of PUTERA-AMCJA's strengths was the unity. As mentioned earlier, the collaboration stood proudly with cooperation from 3 main ethnics; Malay, Indian, and Chinese. If UMNO could break this unity, the task to defeat PUTERA-AMCJA should appear easy. One of the ways (surprisingly used until today) was media; newspaper. Majlis known as UMNO's mainstream media while Utusan Melayu was PUTERA-AMCJA's loyal mainstream media. One of the political cartoons created and used in Majlis to break the unity among the people and spread racial slurs was Ah Chong-Ramasamy cartoon.

One of the cartoons could be found in Majlis newspaper dated 6 September 1947. The title was 'Malaya Hak Melayu'(Malaya is Malay's rights). Below is the political cartoon;

The character wearing tie was Edward Gent, Gabenor of Malayan Union who was telling that;
Malaya hak Melayu! Melayu tak ada negeri lain. Negeri China hak Cina. Negeri India hak Indian. Kamu orang dagang bila² suka ada negeri tempat kamu pindah.

Translated:
Malaya is Malay's rights. Malays do not have other countries. China belongs to Chinese. India belongs to Indians. You are traders. When ever you like, you can go back since you have your own countries.

Three cartoon characters near the bridge were Chinese at the front, Indian, and the one labeled as DR was Dr. Burhanuddin Al-Helmy.

The Chinese cartoon character was saying;
Gua tak suka Fedelesyen. Fedelesyen atak, tentu Melayu sinang.

Translated:
I do not like Federation. Federation will definitely benefit Malays

At the right a Malay farmer character was holding UMNO's flag with a smile on his face.

This political cartoon was enclosed with 2 stanzas of 'Pantun' which read;

Apabila Federation hampir terserlah,
Melayu nampaknya mendapat faedah,
Pekemam Putera mengapa gelisah?
Dengkikan Melayu mendapat tuah!

Negeri Melayu hak Melayu,
Ikan senohong bukannya yu,
Ah Chong tak boleh bertukar bulu,
Ramasamy tetap bercorak Hindu.

Translated:
First stanza:
'With Federation, Malays are gaining benefits, PUTERA seems to get worried as it is jealous when Malays are gaining more benefits'

Second Stanza:
'Malaya belongs to Malay. No matter what, Ah Ching(Chinese) and Ramasamy(Indian) could not be Malays'

Without giving up, after the approval of People's Constitution, PUTERA-AMCJA announced Hartal . Hartal, which was held on 20 October, 1947, carved in Malaya's history where it portrayed the greatest political demonstration which never been seen up in Malaya. This political protest was against Federation which was worked on by UMNO and British together with Kings. PUTERA-AMCJA united with all the different races and moved forward to spread the word about Hartal.They preached people about the People's Constitution and explained how Federation actually would continue to push them into slavery under British. They used media like Utusan Melayu, went from one village to another and plowed into people's mind the urge to be freed from British and establish their own government. People from different background, especially different ethnics and races began to move to one common thought. With that, Hartal emerged as a gigantic wave which shook British and its crony, UMNO.

On 20 October 1947, the Protest Day, where British would debate on the constitutional issue in Malaya, those who regard Malaya as their real home and who supported the People’s Constitutional Proposals issued by PUTERA and the All-Malaya Council of Joint Action, were asked not to carry out their usual occupations, but to remain indoors throughout the day and night.

Sending a strong message, every Malayan(Malay, Chinese, and Indian) stood together without any fear by protesting towards British's undemocratic and unconstitutional ruling. Hartal turned out as a big success as the main cities were deserted and only few people could be seen on the street. This was something very unnatural for British and UMNO who thought Malayans (Malay, Chinese, and Indians) were weak and would bow to their orders. Hartal received wide coverage not only form local mainstream but also International media. It was estimated that around 140,000 participated in Hartal(A big quantum if we consider the population at that time with some limitations to spread the news). Below are news excerpts on Hartal;

Hartal resulted in many outcomes. Associated Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Malaya sent a proposal to British on 25 October 1947 to revise the Federation as the people were against it and supported Hartal. Below is the official letter;

An excerpt from the letter;

Indicative of the widespread dissatisfaction, there was an almost complete cessation of work and business throughout the length and breadth of Malaya from dawn to midnight on that day. Malays, Chinese, Indians and others participated in the move, showing that the opposition to the present Proposals is neither sectional nor communal, nor the result of simply party demands but of the upward surge of a widespread desire for a new ideal of Malayan unity in which all can work together without any communal emphasis.

However, British still proceeded with Federation as UMNO was channeling its full support to the implementation of Federation and officially Federation was officially formed on 1 February 1948.

Even though PUTERA-AMCJA failed in its Peace Demonstration to stop British and UMNO from implementing Federation, they proved to both British and UMNO that people at Malaya at that time despite the different ethnics able to unite and fight for freedom. It actually created a very strong impact where people started to realize about the importance to fight for 'Merdeka'. Hartal is the basic foundation for a continuous and tragic struggle to free Malaya from colonization.

The fact that Malaya gained its Independence without dropping a single blood is a blatant lie! UMNO was not involved in the war and struggle to free the nation but behind the Independence enjoyed by every Malaysian today for almost 53 years(Looking at current situation, it is not fair to call it as a 'freedom'), there are untold sacrifices, unappreciated warriors who swept out all the differences and united to free Malaya. Some questions for us to reflect on;

1. If our grandparents could be united those time to fight for Independence, why today are we tarnishing the unity in the name of championing our race and religion?
2. Who is/are the culprit(s) spreading racial slurs from the day one to divide us ?
3. Are we too dumb or naive to still believe the facts that our Independence is genuine?
4. Why is this piece of history is not emphasized (Perhaps mentioned but not emphasized)?
5. This part of history is only until 1947. What happened from 1948 to 1957?

Writer's note: History repeats itself if we fail to learn from it. Our generation failed to learn. Thus, every single event in the past is repeating now. Look around you. Read the news! Can you identify the newspaper which spreads racial slurs like Majlis (Political cartoon-Ah Chong Ramasamy). Can you see freedom is restricted? If today we do not learn, our future generation will suffer. Failed struggle and bastardized Independence in the past are the reasons for today's conditions. Our grandparents did their best yet they did not manage to continue the struggle. We are still colonized by restricted freedom, corrupted judiciary, racist leaders, ..you name it.... Transformatin is needed. If you still believe we are fine, then the choice is yours. I am awake for the betterment of my future generation! I am speaking up against inequality subjected to Malaysians!! Kick out the racists leaders, Use your Vote, let us move towards a clean government. Let us unite and WE ARE NOT DIFFERENT. Let us continue the struggle of our grandparents until we see the desired changes!!!

PS: Sorry I do not believe in rethoric of 1Malaysia because it sounds as though we are so different. Emphasizing again, we are NO DIFFERENT. We are MALAYSIANS!!

Shall We Kick Out UPSR and PMR?

As the issue of PPSMI (English for Science and Mathematics) walks off
issue of scrapping UPSR and PMR lands. As PPSMI, this issue has been receiving
mixed responses from parents, NGOs, academicians, and some other relevant authorities
The heat kicks on when Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin , Deputy Prime Minister aka Minister of Education
announces the proposal to scrap these two Publis Examinations.

This call as claimed is a parallel proposal in the effort of the Ministry of Education
to resturucture the education system which is stamped as 'Examination orientated'
Private sectors, specifically in many events highlight that our education system
has been producing 'As generating machines' and not street smart human capital

Is scrapping out UPSR and PMR a good measure to generate a flexible and balanced
education system?

Putting it in a technical mode, an assessment is required to assess and evaluate
students' performance. This either can be on going assessment or summative
assessment where the students are assessed at the end of term or at a particluar
year which the assessment is aimed to measure the students' overall understanding

Writing it in a comprehensive form, UPSR is aimed to evaluate students'
peformance in Primary school while PMR is not only to assess the students'
performance at Lower Secondary but also to channel them to the respective
streams. It is either they end up in Science or Arts stream

Both of these public examinations have their purpose. However, the ministry
states that instead of major public examination, school based assessment is used
where school takes over the job of UPSR and PMR. Perhaps this sound good but
we need to consider some other external factors. School exams undoubtfully
are not reliable.

Exam papers designed by schools differ according to the school's
current benchmark, quality of students, geogrophical distribution and
some othe rfactors as well.Schools exams definitely not a preferable choice if
we want to gauge the students' performance at a national level. It is not valid
when it comes to set the benchmark.

Besides that, we also need to consider some
other reasons where bias, unwanted political drama, and corruption which may
occur at schools if the school is given the authority to coordinate examinations
replacing UPSR and PMR.(We have these things happening now but those things are still
under control)

Ministry's concern that we are drifting far away from an actual education system
is definitely given an attention. However, abrupt decision like this is not
in favor. So how we can go about this? The answer is a cliche(as many leaders suggest)
The questions in these exams have to change. Questions should be constructed in a manner
where students have to think. Furthermore, these questions should not be fit to the
category 'MEMORIZE AND VOMIT' as how have been in current UPSR and PMR. The
questions should not be rigid but should able to stimulate and promote higher
thinking order.

The final grade should be given not only based on the exam results but also including
some other elements like co curricular activities, sports, leadership, communication
skills, and voluntary work.

With this, definitely we could prevent the phenomenon of producing 'nerds'. We need to plow
a structure in students' mind that learning is fun and not a burden. This is possible
only if the ministry, schools, and teachers are willing to work on a mutual thought.

So scrapping out UPSR and PMR is not a desired option

Gangsterism--Indian Community

We are the minority in this society yet we contribute to a high crime rate. A visit to Simpang Renggam may explain to you better where the chunk of Indian community is.

Writing it with a proper statistics, we can list them as 7 percent of the population in Malaysia, 60 percent crimes belong to our community and we contribute to 14 percent of the population in prisons. Picking a specific statistics In 1994, 128 of the 377 murders committed in Malaysia were by Indians. ' '

Frankly speaking, as a minority, we should be able to have a good control of our group.The smaller, the better. However, it seems to be vice verse in this matter. So, I decided to do little yet sufficient 'homework' on this. After few reading, flipping through statistics,gathering of information from reliable sources, I compiled all of them in a piece of writing and that's what you are reading now.

One thing that is obvious that there is no proper statistics on these 'secret groups'(Gangs) because as time goes on, the groups evolve and change. Frequently, sub gangs are formed. Thus, any statistics to gauge gangsterism would have less use because the number changes often(unless there is someone who is constantly keeping track). Example of groups which are sustaining up to date are

1. Geng 04
2. Geng 08
3. Geng 24
4. Geng 303
5. Geng 18
6. Geng 36

The figure represents the amount you pay as 'protection'. For example if you belong to 'Geng 04', you pay RM4 per month and so on.

Each gang has sub-gangs. For example, Geng 24 has Ranggi24, Satu Hati 24 and so on as the sub gangs (These are the branches)

Whether the gang sustains or not depends on the leader. If the leader is caught, most probably the gang will set to 'sleep mode' until a new leader takes over.

Where , Why , How

The grass root of gangsterism is secondary school. The supply begins from secondary school. Zooming down to this issue, there some other things swim up to the surface. Low achievers meaning students who are performing below average academically seem to stand a 'good chance' to be groomed as gangsters. Mostly, these guys are from 'peralihan' classes. Some are forced into gangsterism while some choose to be part of the gang.In many cases, students who have low self esteem and who are lacking of personal awareness are the target. At school, they are usually marginalized because not many teachers are concern about them. Well, it is obvious that these students are labeled as 'problem makers'. These students usually need attention. They need someone to invest trust in them and inject some confidence in them, telling them they too can succeed. While they are tail less, has no goals in life, they find short cuts to make them self good or at least impress the girls. So they kick start behaving as 'macho guys' by committing small crimes at school. At this point, the network between these students and the 'hardcore' gangsters start to evolve. At one corner, the parents lose tracks on what are the kids doing. This is the point where they take a step higher. Network with hardcore gangster is established. They meet up, agree to be the member with the agreed amount. Once they are part of the team, they progress. Crimes that they commit set a benchmark for the progress. More crimes they commit, better position in the gang.

Mean while, some try to get some pocket money through gang activities. Usually these gangs at a bigger scale commit robbery, drug trafficking, and etc. They are also 'orang kanan' for some 'Important people'. The members are groomed in a way to receive and act as how their 'important people' have instructed, of course for a 'big money'. In this context, they are involved in murdering (Sounds like a Tamil Movie but that's the reality here). Students are usually involved in drug trafficking Recalling one of the conversations with 17 year-old boy when I attended a meeting with a NGO, he was a drug addict. He started to indulge in drugs in the age of 13. He then was involved in drug trafficking. He said he was earning around RM300 one day. However, he was unable to sustain his 'luxuries' due to his addiction.

Putting the thoughts clearer there is one strong root that contributes to gangsterism, namely, POVERTY. Lacking of parental guidance, peer pressure and etc are secondary factors.
In contemporary, Indian community's social and political mobility have been thwarted. In the Indian community, rich is getting richer while poor is getting poorer. Strangely, middle class family is doing well. The main problem is the people at grass root. The problem is there is hardly a connection and communication between well ding group with these poor people. Indirectly, this reflects the lacking of social commitment among Indians.

Moreover, our education system focuses on high achievers. Indirectly, low achievers (where you can see our boys there) are swept out. Although skill training and other options are available, these guys are clue less especially after they graduated from high school. What they need is a bit of confidence and a pinch of feeling good. Many times, there are few sources and people whom can they turn to. Some tend to be lucky to bump with the right person who actually show them the way to live while many are dragged far into the well of crimes. If we can show these people to acquire financial stability, I am certain in the future, the problem will not repeat. Grooming a person is equivalent to grooming a family

Amarjit Kaur, professor of Economic History, University of New England, Australia mentioned in his research that social problems should not be viewed as an isolated problems. It goes parallel with economy. When the economy of Indians is threaten, it gives an impact on the social compartment.

Personally I believe that this is the time where we need to bridge the gap between the 'well doing; group and the grass root people.Gangsterism in our community has reached to a point where there is no turning back.Time to look at this matter with a serious planning.

Come Again, GAS?Benefits the Community?

Explosive stuff exploded with a 'pop' sound few days ago. Press was hoping for a 'bomb' but it's okay because at least they have GAS(Gerakan Anti Samy Velu) now. So now is GAS, whats next? MIC President steps down? Whats the next agenda? Do you know what I mean?

Is GAS a struggle between the injustice and justice OR a dramatized event between MIC President and the sacked MIC Youth Deputy Chief? (You should know by right now)What ever it is, in what ways does this benefit the community?

If MIC President steps down and a 'veteran leader' takes over the leadership, can we see the desired changes in the community(sorry, in the party in the first place)? How much the Indian community has improved in 35 years?(I am not interested with particular people's 'improvement'). The 'overstayed' President strictly said that he will continue his 'contribution' to the community until September next year. He justified his decision by claiming that he needs 'shuffle' and conduct some 're-arrangements' in the party. How much can be done in this one year whereas nothing much were done in past 35 years?

Some grouses can be heard (even from party members) that the sacked Deputy Chief did not contribute to the growth of the community and was associated with some fights and etc. Leaders from MIC wings have been conducting Press Conference (not willing to specify.you should know) criticizing the man for his less contribution and his decisions. Why now? Why people did not admonish him on his less contribution to the community when he was in position?Is it because if was a YES MAN in the party? So does this suggest that you are in a 'safe zone' though you do not contribute much to the community until you open your mouth against the party rules and regulations,'constitution , or, protocol or..you name it. This man is sacked immediately when he pressured the president to step down. What does this incident suggest? (This incident reminds me about Tom Cruise's film 'Valkyrie' . Google it out to find the story line. Then you will understand what I mean)

I am already writing the forth paragraph and we still do not see how does the community benefit from all these 'dramas'. To our disappointment, many people without second thought are rising channeling their support blatantly not knowing what is next. When I attended a forum last month, happened to meet a vulnerable man. we had a short session. He told me ' you know Indians are very passionate and active. If you tell an Indian to remove the chair, without you completing the sentence he will remove the chair , to the other side, holding it and ask you where to put it'. It is the undeniable truth. This short though demonstrates about many Indians. When someone rise against something, we too rise together not knowing where is it heading to. At the end,we are the jackass .

Fight to the betterment of the community does not need political purpose.It ought to have genuine purpose. In GAS, a group of people who gave up on the MIC President take this chance to express their anger. Where as, another group of people pledge that they need the President's service despite the fact that in 35 years time, he did not manage to reduce that 1.9 percent of poverty among Indians and also 'contributed' to the decrease of Indians equity from 1.9% (2005) to 1.5 (2009). (Take note that 1.2 percent is contributed by Anantha Krishnan)

While many are talking about staying loyal to party, I am talking about the decreased equity among Indians change and betterment in the community.

While many are bombarding each other with nasty and irrelevant comments, I am talking about where did the 1 miilion bon that Bank Negara channeled for Indians disappear and planning with my team mates to help the poor people(As we are not interested with elite people)

People are not interested with your 'on-off' events for publicity purpose

People are not interested with your agenda of attacking and picking up on people,

People are not interested with your 'wahai saudara' enthusiastic yet fake speech

People not interested with your agenda to 'turun padang' only when needed.

I Gave it to You Son

He could not explain how much shame he was holding. He just wanted to punch him but his position as a school prefect held him. His friend's words 'your mum got only one eye ma? eeeeeeee', kept on haunting him. His steps were aggressive. The hot sun did not manage to slow him down.

With full of anger, he walked into the house, threw his bag to a corner and 'shum' slammed the door. He could not explain his feelings. why to him?why this had been happening to him, he wondered. She ----his mum but his friends teasing him. He failed to deal with it.he failed!!!With whom was he angry, with the friend who teased his mom or to her mom who only had one eye???

There was a knock on the door. He knew that should be his mother. He washed his face and sat at the dining table while his mother was serving him his favorite chicken curry with fried egg. She knew something was bothering him but she chose to keep quiet until he decided to share with him. She began the conversation to divert his mind, ' Madam Leela said that you are really good in Chemistry. Your class teacher also said you are in top 5. '

He did not reply to her. Out of sudden he said, 'Mum, next time you do not need to come to school. It is really bothering you. You ask uncle Param to come if there is anything. Why you want to trouble yourself. I am not hungry now. I will eat later'

He rose and went to his room slamming the door. She felt that like a slap on her face. She sat down, and her one little eye together with the 'artificial' one peep at the son's baby photo , hanging on the wall.She looked deep into that two bright eyes and slowly her tears started to swim down her cheeks. Her fingers touched her right eye lid. She understood what he tried to say. 'I understand son', she whispered

One kind of indefinite feeling started to linger in him. He could not comprehend it. He knew very well that his mother worked very hard to bring him up. Life was not easy since the day his father left his mother and married again. He was clueless where was his father. He learned about this world through his mother. Yes true but when his friend said that, he felt so uncomfortable with her.Why???He was confused

He was touched. he hugged her tightly and said ' I love you so much mum'.

His life at Australia was so different. He was coping well in his studies. After 3 years of studies, he graduated and was accepted to work as an Executive Directors in one of the top International companies. In these 3 years, he never thought to call up his mother and he did not know why. As time passed by, he fell for an Australian girl. When the girl's family agreed, one day they invited to come over for lunch.

While they were chit chatting, the girl's father raised up a question to him. 'So what about your family?Where do they stay?' He had a tongue tied. Family? Mother? He was silent. He was thinking what to answer? He was thinking whether to tell about his one eyed mother who was a source of joke to his friends. Wouldn't that be embarrassing for him? He replied ' no, no, I was brought up by my uncle after my parents passed away. he also passed away recently'

He got married and had two beautiful princess. Sometimes, the though of his mother passed by but his busy schedule made him to ignore it. There were times where he felt some kind of uncomfortable feeling when ever he thought about his mother. This was different to the one he experienced when he was a young man.Was he guilty?He did not know.

It was almost 10 years he left his homeland. there was a business trip to Malaysia that he had to go. He was in a hesitation yet finally he had decided to go.

He started to think 'Am I a cruel son?i should not be embarrassed of my mother right?' The car stopped in front of the house. Many things had changed but the house still remained as how he left it. The gate was unlocked and he stepped in.

He saw an old man, reading a newspaper on the lazy chair. The old man looked at him and he could recognized him, Uncle Param, the man who he claimed had died to his laws. He looked around the house and saw his mother's photo was hanging on the wall with jasmine flower surrounding it. He understood the fact that his mother had left him as how he claimed to his laws. Uncle Param stared at him, he could recognize the man in front of him. Without saying a single word, he went into a room and brought a wooden box.

He gave it to him and said 'During the last moments of your mother' life, she asked me to give this to you. We know you will come back one day but not sure when. I am done with my part but you still owe something' The old man sat on the lazy chair

He was in a dismay. He was not sure. His tears started to roll down. With the box he walked out of the house and sat in the car. His little heart whispered 'I should not have left her. Right.I should have taken care of her'. He looked at the wooden box that he was holding

He opened it. He saw his baby picture taken when he was 1 year- old. There was a letter. He read it;

Hulu Selangor : TIME TO WALK THE TALK

One of the most heated 'teh tarik' topic finally came to the 'starting point'. The game is not over; in fact just begins. The winning party as overall has 2 main agendas namely,prove to Hulu Selangor people that their choice is the RIGHT ONE and prepare the whole team for PRU13. Coming two years is going to be a tight battle field for Barisan Nasional as the opposition is 'getting serious' with their business. the fact both parties(despite the fact that Barisan Nasional won in the by election) have much 'homework' to be done is undeniable because the Barisan Nasional's winning at Hulu Selangor does not guarantee a major and comfortable winning for the party in PRU13. A quick glance at the result shows 2 basic factors for PKR's downfall at Hulu Selangor; FELDA and Indians' votes.

It seems that Barisan Nasional has a very 'good control' over FELDA people. Nothing much can be commented on this because these people are brought up in a traditional way where from generation to generation they have been voting Barisan Nasional, sustaining their 'loyalty' In this matter, perhaps media plays a role where FELDA people are not much exposed to the multiple sources of media. This is different with Indian voters. It is reported that majority of the Indian voters voted Barisan Nasional. This is really a big turning point. For quite some time, Indians remained as Barisan's 'loyal voters; not until HINDRAF stepped in. Although HINDRAF's activities and activists 'cooled down' as fast as they were 'heated up'; the fact that HINDRAF brought a great impact on Indians is undeniable. They stood up and started to speak for their rights. This phenomena can be observed with rising young Indian bloggers voicing up their rights. In fact, certain resources mentioned that HINDRAF is another reason for Barisan Nasional's defeat in PRU12(2008).

This contrasts with Hulu Selangor by election's result. What actually made Indians to turn back to Barisan Nasional? Is it because of Kg Pala's issue or is it that Barisan Nasional; MIC precisely managed to gain back Indian's trust? Many claim that controversy between PKR and Human Rights Party is the reason for the divergent of the Indian voters. Does this suggest that Human Rights Party's act to not 'turun padang' for the by election is the reason for PKR's lost?

There are many possible things for the change in the voting pattern yet there is one very important message that people would like to convey. Barisan Nasional' slim victory at Hulu Selangor with 1725 is not something that they can be proud of. The position is like 'telur di hujung tanduk'where the 'in stable group of voters' can be at anyone's side in a blink of an eye. Now is the time for the winning party to walk the talk. Fulfilling all the promises is what should be next in the list. the man's alone efforts will not bring changes unless the whole party is committed as how they were during the campaign. The 1 Malaysia spirit should not disappear after the by election but must sustain throughout the term. If not, another 'gigantic awakening rally' may turn over the whole things, attracting 'the in stable voters to their side' and this may result in the party's lost in coming PRU13.

Hulu Selangor by election did not really demonstrate a professional and matured procedures of an election.Nasty comments and unjustified allegations were thrown at both candidates which actually portray both parties' 'childish' attitude. For many, these things are the source of their laugh.Trivial things were picked and blown up to worsen the situation. Worst case scenario,'loyal followers' have been updating their social networking sites with irrelevant and unnecessary comments. Some even had been doing the talking without knowing what exactly had happened. In the name of 'ceramah', people got up sharing nasty stories with the others forgetting their earlier purpose. Many politicians have this 'mouth diarrhea' problem (both parties) where they utter undesirable things which finally put them under fire. Public witnessed these things happening in Hulu Selangor and definitely this will influence PRU13. Talking is done and now is the time to prove to people through actions.

It seems a great deal of 'angpow' had been circulating in Hulu Selangor. Both parties 'turun padang' looking after the welfare of the people. Booths were opened here and there. Meals were prepared and even medical camps and etc had been operating. Good!!! Something was done for the people at least at the very last minute before the election. Would these things sustain? This is another question which will decide the parties' victory in PRU13

People are awake. They are looking for changes. If nothing much is done, Reformation will take place and current parties will be irrelevant. Time to WALK THE TALK!!

What is exactly the deal between love and us? Why are we so worried about it? Why are we so particular about it? why does it affect us? Too many questions yet we always hear one common answer 'I DONT KNOW'

Looking at emotional status updates, feed backs on relationship updates, videos shared has made me to think that LOVE bothers some people a lot.

Man, LOVE makes a rich, strong,stable eligible bachelor to roll on floor and cry for girl friend who left him.UNBELIEVABLE

Why are we so emotional about it. Why is it difficult for us to apply some practicality in love?

My stand is we need practicality in love

People get too emotional when it comes to love relationship. Some invest themselves hundred percent. So what happen next? When they discover their partner's true color, they get disappointed.

We need to understand the fact that love is not about exchanging romantic text messages or spending time 24/7 or booking a hotel room for a night.

It is about commitment, a commitment to build a strong and happy family institution and produce quality off springs

Many of us in fact think that every decision in life should be taken based on a rational consideration and some of us do so. However, why is that principle contradicts when it comes to love decision? i do not mean to be material but trying to be realistic.It is very disappointing to see teenagers fall in love in the age of 14..Oh MAN..Whats up.. Do you think you can get married with another joker at this age and settle down??? Come on..Well leave this.People may argue that this is 'puppy love' and not much of seriousness.

Okay fine. Let us move on to another example. This girl is someone who is really educated and has settled well in her life. She is now in her late twenties (age to get married i guess). Here one day she bumps with a man----her Mr Romeo---I lay my love on you..OPS wait not yet..Oh Gosh he is a jobless man in day time and drunkard in the night!!!!!!!! Girl's parents try to convince her. NEVER WORKED. Girl threatens her parents that she will commit suicide if they reject the guy..What a wonderful story

Where is this girl's brain??? I do not know. Now you tell me.Does love need practicality??Of course ya. Do not tell me rubbish story that 'I think maybe the girl can marry the guy and try to change him' CRAB CRAB STOP IT. He is going to feed on her like a parasite and cleans up her bank account. This is not a Tamil movie man where out nowhere the guy changes his mind and turns out to a new man. This real is life!!!! That's why I am telling that love needs practicality

Some people are going around telling that 'You know love is blind. You wont know when and how it blossoms but blossoms on the right time'--AIYAAAAA.. Some jokers in movies mentioned these lines for a better market and our people are taking these lines seriously. Who said love is blind? You choose to be blind. There is no miracle about love. It is just a chemistry and hormones.

Well something crossed my mind while talking about chemistry and hormones. There is one thing that I must share with every one of you. I have observed one phenomena in love; SEX. Quite a number of people especially teenagers who are in a relationship already had their first sexual intercourse meaning they are not virgin. Well, painful huh----truth hurts babe---

Why are these people losing their mind. Some people seem to take this thing very casually. Why is there an urgent need for sex? Where are your minds guys. There is a quote says that " A man loses his sense of direction after four drinks , a woman loses hers after four kisses." This quotes explains that females need to be wise in their relationship. Practicality in love is needed my dear ladies. The burden is more on your side as you will be affected more in pre marital sex especially when things go off out of control and you end up pregnant. What will you do if the guy is not going to take the responsibility? So be wise, be practical

Love needs practicality. why gamble your life by trusting a person who even you are not certain about his or her true color? We even fail to understand our own parents. Do you think we will be able to understand and know everything about a person who we met a few years ago?

As I mentioned before, love is about exchanging romantic messages, hanging on phone 24/7, having emotional fights or even sending flying kisses. It is a commitment. Do not get committed until you are stable to be committed

Why take risk. be wise, be practical. Love needs practicality

INDIAN COMMUNITY----Where are we heading to?

Few days ago I attended a meeting with an organization(NGO) to discuss about one of my projects which focuses on low achievers among Indian students. Many issues regarding the community were discussed and it was really a fruitful discussion. Literally the discussion ended there but that discussion contributed to the 'discussion in my mind' One particular question sticks in my mind up to date--What actually hinders the growth of Indian community?

A cliche question yet many prefer to not answer. So I decided to answer

1.) We are not really good in prioritizing things(sounds vague perhaps). In Malaysia we have 523 Tamil schools and temple--more than 100,000(not including temples which are not registered). Why do we need to spend so much of money in building more temples while our Tamil schools are lacking basic facilities. For a 'kumbaveshegam' in a temple, thousands of money spent but for the school next to the temple, not even few hundreds donated. Even if donate, some Tamil schools' organizations misuse it. How to achieve financial stability if the situation continues to be like this?

2.)Early childhood education among our children;for a group of them precisely fails. We are 7 percent of the population and yet surprisingly 60 percent of the crime is committed by our people. The worst, 14 percent of the prisoners is also our people. In education, 15 % of our students are top achievers and this group usually settle down at overseas while 30 % of our students are IPTA and IPTS students. Apart from that 40 % students belong to the below average achievers and remaining students turn out to be 'hardcore' gangsters who commit heavy crimes. The low achievers group seem to suffer the most and these students are the one who are not certain where they are heading to. What become their choice is the 'hardcore' s choice where they choose their way to live the live; shooting up the crime rate. What do these statistics suggest to us? Some where a long the way has failed our students. Some literature reviews suggest that early childhood education is the root. So we need to look back at that. At the same time, as how we have plenty of plans for top achievers, we also need to focus on low achievers

3.)UNITY is another big big big problem. Why on earth Indians are not united? I do not think I need to elaborate more on this. Think for yourself

Many of us then to blame the others for our current situation. Personally, I believe that the fault is within us. However,I believe that the problem should be tackled from the root. Time to do some 'cleansing' in our community and restructure the whole thing. We are now at a point where we need to do something for our community. If not, there is no turning back . If mothers in the family stop watching Tamil serials and fathers stop loitering at restaurants to talk about politics and divert their mind to concentrate on their children, the situation will change.Financial stability is the key for the betterment of our community. We are the minority and supposedly we should be strong. Unfortunately there are some of use here for political purpose. Community work is not genuine. Events are organized for community by some organization, associations for a cheap advertisement. NO FOLLOW UP. So how? Every individual needs to wake up and bring the change in him or her. Depending on one particular association or organization will bring us nowhere. Time to rectify ourselves and establish our own financial in dependency.

My Journey with 'You'

'You' were unknown in my life when I was venturing my childhood.
It was not exactly unknown but I chose to not to give you an identity to you; English language
I was in my comfortable zone; ignoring you but not till that day when my English teacher bombarded me with harsh comments and embarrassed me in front of the class

' Your work is full with grammatical errors. It seems that you have zero knowledge on Grammar. You will be left far behind if you do not improve fast since your classmates are doing well,'

That the first day when I started to think about you. I felt as though my credibility was challenged.I knew at that time that something should be done.

Immediately after school I went to bookshop, looking around for something but I was not sure what I was looking for. As my eyes were moving; suddenly, it caught a sight. At the rack, I saw a book 'Tatabahasa Inggeris'. Without any second thought I plucked it from the book case, paid for it, and marched off the bookshop.

One week I spent exploring the most significant part in order to dominate you; GRAMMAR
I flipped from one page to another, reading it, understanding it with a hope that one day I would be able to master it. Although I had some difficulties, I managed to fill my brain with some basic Grammar rules.

Days and months flew by and my hope to create a good 'rap-ho' with you grew. I steeped to Form 3. I observed some changes especially when writing an essay using 'you'. My English teacher used my essays as examples and unexpectedly one day she talked to me\

'Your grammar is improving drastically. Now I think that you should focus on expanding your vocabulary'

What else next?? I started to read newspapers. My first newspaper; The Star. I read short articles and kept a log of vocabulary. I still remember those days where I tried to fit the small notebook into my pocket till the pocket was torn. I was in a hot soup when my mother discovered about that. Nevertheless, my love for 'you' made me deaf to those scoldings.

When the 'nice' commits 'not nice' things

In every day life, we deal with people from all walks of life. Some make friends with us while some remain as 'strangers' . While engaging with these people, we tend to do a 'rough mind calculation' about them. It is a nature of every human being to always generate feed backs about each other. While doing so, inevitably, we tend to judge a person based on their behavior or attitude(In another word, how they treat us)

When the person is known for her 'bad' traits; well that should not bother us. However, when we believe a person is 'nice' or 'good'; we maintain a good impression on them and things start to diverge when this person proves to be vice verse under certain circumstances and conditions.

When we believe a person is 'good'; we are unable to accept to misbehaves of the person.Immediately we jump to a conclusion that she is not worth of thinking or mingling. Why do you think that one person behaves differently in a different situation

We will not be able to accept if the good one does the worst.This is closely related to behavior. How do we define behavior?

Dr Nicholas Herrera, in one of his essays defines behavior as ' a function of the person and the situation' This means a person's behavior is subjected to changes from time to time. He explains this by quoting defender Elizabeth Lambert who behaved badly during a soccer match between the University of New Mexico and Brigham Young University(According to a sports center source)

If behavior changes, how we define whether a person is 'nice' or not? Usually, when a person pleases us, we think she or he is 'nice'. Dr. Jeremy Sherman, an evolutionary epistemologist in his essay entitled 'Is It Narcissism or Nicessism' says that it is difficult for us to distinguish between 'nice' and 'not nice'. This suggests that one person;s wisdom may offend another person's principle.

One man's meat is another man's poison.

Since it is difficult to differentiate, then where do we draw line between 'nice' and 'not nice'? If we are not be able to differentiate, then how can we tell a person is nice or not.

Maybe some people may claim that ' she does not hurt me, so she is nice'. This may sound naive because the same person may claim later that 'I did not expect her to behave in such a way. She sucks'

Same person who reacts differently when she is dumped into a stressful situation."fundamental attribution error"term as developed by Ross, 1977 claims that behavior is attributed to a person's personality and not the situations which might the person is most probably victimized.

Based on this ' fundamental attribution error', we should not judge a person based on her behavior since it is parallel to the conditions or situations she is subjected.

We must first understand the factors that make the person to behave in such a way. If she is ill mannered due to situational factors; then we should not blame her for behaving unpleasantly. This less or more reflects people who tend to judge a person based on their single act.

Each individual is unique. If the nature is different in 4 seasons, we after all human beings undeniably represent variety of reflections in different situations. Remember that two people may see at one thing differently.

He deserves a second Chance

It has been 2 years I am working as a partime tutor.So far I have 20 students studying with me. Each of them stands in a different path and certainly they have their own style of doing things. As a tutor, there is an urge for me to equip myself with different teaching methods.Some prefer music, some prefer role playing and some prefer games.However, here is this particularly boy silently challenges my ability.

It is going to be 2 months, I am teaching him. He is really 'inert'. I can accept slow learners but not passive learners. immediately if I ask him what I have taught, nothing I get in return. Homework is not completed, and every time he is stick to his computer.

Last Monday, I gave him homework to do, and told him that I will check the homework on Tuesday(Yesterday). As promised, I went to his house(event though I did not have a class with him) just to check his homework and guess what, he did not complete it. I told him 'time now is 8.00pm, I will come at 9.00pm and make sure you are done with your homework.' Leaving him with that warning, I went off. I went to the nearest book shop and bought a long meter ruler for him. While I was on the way back to his house, the discussion about caning that we had in Dr.Tee's class occupied my mind. I still remember my stand 'Caning is still relevant'. Coincidentally, when I reached there, his mother was there and I explained things to her. She did not talk much since she was on phone.

Then I went off. I had class with him today. Something never expected happened

I got the chance to talk to his mother and grandmother. I was thrown out.....

This boy was brought up by his maid. I have no idea about his father but I understand that his mother is always abroad. Since kid, he does not socialize, explaining the reason of why he is inert. He did not go through kindergarten , standard 1 and 2 and he ended up in standard 3(Dont know how). Thus, he did not have the basic foundation.

Now I understand...His mother told me 'I should tell you about this earlier. But I am sorry for not informing you. I hope you can be a little patient with him. I dare to tell you that he even cant do primary school questions and what more form 1 questions'

The conversation ended there. I asked this boy 'I did not know that you did not study the basic knowledge.Now I understand the reason for your unusual poor performance. But why didn't you tell m e?

While I was talking to him, I could see his eyes were watering. He sobbed and said 'Would you trust me If I were to tell you?You would only say that 'don't give me rubbish excuses' I dont blame you teacher. I blame myself for being stupid. I want to score high marks like the others but I cant'

I was tongue tied. In front of me..a student, struggling to score...however unable to do so because of his inability.

I decided that I am going to give him the chance. I am going to invest 100 percent trust in this boy and I will make sure that he scores well.HE DESERVES THE SECOND CHANCE

Phenomena of 'Kedekut Ilmu'

Yesterday I got a chance to catch up with my course mate for supper at Old Town White Coffee. Since now is exam week, we planned to discuss about one of the papers. While munching the egg toast, slurping chilled chocolate in a chilled restaurant, the discussion reached its warmest point. We were more critical about the answers that we are going to write in exam. In the middle of discussion we did allocate a slot for other intellectual and fun (Of course we need a break what) chatting.

At that time, an issues was raised by my course mate. She asked me, Why we have people who are 'kedekut Ilmu'?. I looked deep into her eyes and I realized that she was asking the question is a very serious tone. However, I was confused on how to respond. Was she asking for clarification or stating a fact.

I asked her back ' Why suddenly you are asking?' Any problem?' She replied, 'Actually you know I went to ask some of our friends regarding questions for ******************** paper. You know right our lecturer already give the scope. Actually I was in the class;however I missed some of the points. thus I went to ask them. Guess what, they said that no scope were given.I was shocked you know. I was there in class and I that the scopes are given. ehmmmm....people....Why are they so 'kedekut ilmu'?????

I just smiled and said 'You know what, we cant expect people to be as how we want them to be' they choose to be so and personally I believe that they should which is right and wrong. Regarding this issue, I, myself, also very disappointed. This is not a new thing. It is not only happening here. It is happening everywhere. So just chill.Ok.Now you already have the scopes right. So just move on'...I cooled her down

I might sound as though I am on the fence but I am not actually. If this kind of problem happens among children, I can understand because they are still growing and have not achieved the stage to put themselves in other people's shoes. But what about us?University students, precisely undergraduates of Malaysia's best university, University of Malaya(Namanya belajar kat universiti tapi perangai macam belajar tadika.Ahdedoedede)

This reminds me a significant fact. we may studying in university because we are good test takers but attitude wise we are still performing below the standard. Let say if the government were to choose students for IPTA intake based on attitude, how many you think will qualify (Lu pikir la sendiri)

I do not know what we are going to lose if we share knowledge with the others (especially our course mates since we are taking same course)? Remember the more you give, the more you receive.

I remember a service that I attended at Harvest Church(thanks to Anna and Jessica who brought me there). The pastor asked the people 'who can lend me RM50?' The hall was quite and suddenly this guy went up and gave the money.(I didnt go because that time I was pokai ready lol=D). The pastor stopped him on stage and said' You see he is willing to give, so he will receive more'. He then took the money from his pocket (all RM50 notes) and gave piece by piece to this guy.Guess what, the pastor gave him RM 300 and he continued 'the more you give, the more you receive'

Same thing applies here guys. never be stingy with knowledge. The more you keep the knowledge with yourself, the less you will receive. There should be competition but no JEALOUSY. If you are scared that others will score better if you share knowledge with others, then do not call yourself as a 'human' (Sorry if it hurts.Siapa makan cili, dia terasa pedas).

So this is just a five cent thought from me. It strikes me and I write.To accept or not its up to your 'wisdom'.
